Around the house

Projects have been the name of the game this week. Tyler is off on "I hate my job" leave, so I have him all to myself for the next 5 or 6 days :) This gives me ample time and opportunity to get to all those little things I have been meaning to do...

My absolute favorite project was my Spooky House. I LOVE this house. Once I got started on it I just couldn't stop. I kept finding things around the house and I was like Ooh! this would make a great tombstone...or Ooh! these would make cute trees...Tyler even pitched in and let me have the fake grass off of one of the cases to his baseball movies :) I used Poly-Fill for the smoke, and I cut the bats out of paper, the black cat is a 3-d scrapbook sticker and the entire house is covered in Diamond Dust glitter. (I pretty much depleted my supply but oh well!)I can't wait to start my Christmas house...now THAT one is gonna be a doozy.

The lamp in Isabella's room is an ugly, cheap canvas lampshade that I probably bought at Wal-Mart, I completely covered it in fake flowers, for the bottom, I took the flowers apart and glued the petals on like shingles. Very girly, I think. I love my glue gun!!!

I also took pictures of the mantle I hung in her room, I've loaded it with knick-knacks and paddy-whacks. I'm on the market for some antique lace to trim the edge of the shelf with. And then of course is the rocking chair...that rocking chair rocked every single one of my sisters and me, and almost all of the grandchildren. Now, Isabella and I read her bedtime stories in this chair :)

The rest are pretty self explanatory, my fall mantle, my black and white wall, Isabella squatting to kiss a picture of Da-Da....

I can't even think of fall right now but your projects are great! I gave a shout when I saw your lampshade. I did one for Kimsey's room almost the same. The only difference are the flowers at the top. I knew you had great taste!
